Sewing this month has been sort of like a see-saw. Up and down. I'm just about done sewing a purse using this fabric, and the two top photos are another purse I'm trying out for my daughter. I'm not using a pattern but copying something I purchased from a thrift store two years ago. It's a bit tough going since I also have to make my own faux chenille for it. We'll see. I don't have that handy gadget seen in the video. Hope a small pairs of sharp scissors will do the trick.
And remember the previous purse idea that she had wanted? It's gone by the wayside for now. We'll probably return to it during the summertime when she has more time.
Can't wait for Randi's new sew-along to start next week. (of course, I will be busy serving and making food for lots of people and will have no time to even think straight!)
And of course, I couldn't help showing some new fabrics that arrived in the mail yesterday... now if only my washer and dryer would arrive so that I can wash this stack of fabrics as well as our mountains of laundry...
I'm still dreaming of starting my first quilt like this one or this one or this one (patterns not necessarily colors). But it'll probably just stay in the dream stage for now. That's okay.
And then there's some clothing that I'd like to make. A few skirts for the summer or a top that's similar to this dress. I love all the pintucks and split collar.
Are you working on any sewing projects?
Love the colors in the top purse. I've made a number of them and love the style. As for the quilts, I'm finishing one for a grandchild's birthday. Good luck on starting yours...will you tie or quilt yours? Twin, full or wall hanging? Gee...I'm so excited for you. Hugs...

This post is right up my alley this week. I've been neglecting my crafty side lately and decided that needed to stop. After a trip to Joann's yesterday, I'm all set to begin 2 skirts and to adapt 2 old sweaters into cardigans (a pinterest idea). I'm sure I'll blog about it. Also, my eldest lovingly reminded me that I still haven't finished his quilt that I began when I was pregnant with Sam--who's 4 1/2 now! I told him that this summer might be the perfect time for me to finish it! :)

yes that dress would make quite a beautiful top... perhaps the http://made-by-rae.com spring top sew off will inspire you to stitch it up for yourself? i think i'm using it as perfect motivation to stitch myself up a new top this weekend (or atleast start it!).
ps- we're not far from newtown... what a small world, right?

Love the purse and the fabrics. I am working on pants for my little man, and I just picked up some fabric yesterday to make myself a new purse. Now to find the time :)

Oh, how I would love to sew! I have a purse half-way done....just can't seem to get my two youngins simultaneously content. Also, still need to do by ironing board cover. I'm loving the noodlehead quilt!
