A little unexpected break from blogging can either boost or depress depending upon one's focus. Last week, I barely had enough time to breathe let alone try to create. It was an unexpected break, and I found myself not having the best attitude. It wasn't any one particular thing; just lots of little things that added to the overwhelmingness (is that a word?). The weather too, with its rain, rain and more rain, had most definitely put a damper on getting things completed.
So as I took a quick jaunt around our very mucky watery yard this morning and saw all the overgrown weeds and lamented about all the amount of work to be done, I realized that I need another break from blogging. (and not just to beautify our yard) This time the blogging break will be more deliberate so that needs can be completed (without grumbling) and wants can be revived (with freshness).
Refocusing and adjusting are necessary parts of the process. It's sort of like this bush. This beautiful butterfly bush is my neighbor's, and if I stand in just the right place, I can see this bush from my bedroom window. It brings much joy and peace as I stare at it. Refreshment. However, if I simply move my eyes and look straight out the window (which is usually my view) I would see my neighbor's very ugly, unkempt yard and garage. So I guess it depends upon where I stand. Where I choose to look. My focus.
Hopefully, some refocusing and readjusting will take place during the break so that when I return, I'll offer some little bits of beauty.
See you sometime next week! Or maybe... even the week after that !!!!
