I think we are beginning to arise from the doldrums of winter what with the past 2 days of glorious sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures. Will we be entrenched in frigid weather and muck again? Probably. But for now, we'll bask in the sun's warming glow. It's amazing how much our spirits are lifted just by the sweet gift of natural light in the house.
So what's with the first 2 pictures? Something doesn't seem right, you ask? Well...I just say who needs to go to the movies or ball game when you've got front-row seats to the neighborhood flooding problem? All we need is some popcorn! Actually these guys have been hard at work trying to fix a leaky water pipe for the past few days. The kids & I have found it quite interesting. Maybe I should turn this into a homeschool lesson complete with essay, math problems & a science experiment...
Okay enough of that. I did enjoy a little nice thrifting the past 2 weekends. Besides finding a pizza stone (whoo hoo), I discovered this fabric by Marianne Nilsson (although the name printed on the edge says Nilson): a textile design by a Swedish desginer. The title of the piece: "Tempest". Don't know if this is vintage or a reprint?
Have a great weekend!
